Name a loyal sidekick you can’t help but love more than their counterpart?
Brandy Potter.

Oh so many! Sam, Merry, Pippen, and Gimli in the Lord of the rings. Silk/Prince Kheldar and Beldin from David Eddings’ Belgariad and Mallorean series. Kalten and Flute/Aphreal from the Elenium/Tamuli series. How on earth do I pick just one? But if I have to pick two, (truly I can’t pick just 1) it would be Silk and Flute. He (Silk) is such a smart A$$ and she is a highly manipulative child goddess. I love it!

I love Groover from the Percy Jackson series. He’s loyal, kind, and a great friend. He also has plenty of talents of his own, and is a hero in his own right.

.Samwise Gamgee, every time! So much of the focus rested on Frodo as the main character of the Lord of The Rings… but Sam showed real courage every chance he got! He stood against the darkness when there was no one left to stand, he kept going though everyone was trying to tell him not to. He carried AN ENTIRE CAMP KITCHEN into Mordor with him….
AND he even carried Frodo himself when the Ring got too heavy and the pressures made the young hobbit cave. Sam stood, Sam fought, Sam survived… and when it was all over, Sam stayed behind while the rest of his friends moved on. The others might have had circumstances thrust upon them by dark times and foul deeds, but every time Sam was given a way out, he was allowed (sometimes commanded) to stay behind or remain in safety–he chose the courageous path, and he did so deliberately, and showed incredible intelligence all the way through. Sam is the Ultimate Sidekick! A “Frodo” friend might be found when you least expect it, but a “Sam” will always be on hand when you need him most!

Ron Weasley. I feel this is probably a common one, but also true. As much as I like Harry, I like Ron way more. I felt like Ron continually stuck by Harry, even when so many other’s didn’t, and involved himself in the battle with Voldemort selflessly. Harry was born into the Voldemort conflict or you could say pulled in by Voldemort himself, but Ron inserted himself in it. Even when things at school weren’t easy, because we all know kids can be jerks or he was angry, like in Goblet of Fire, he was a great friend of Harry’s.
