And now on to today’s question…
What was the last book you read?
So I just finished The Supernaturals by David L Goleman. I have listened to it so many times on audible, that I finally broke down and bought it. It is a book about “the” Haunted House. It is scary. There aren’t too many “hooky” things about it. But the house eats people. Yes.. the house eats people. It’s great! It actually scared me. Well the first time anyway 🙂

.I just finished the fourth book in the Percy Jackson And The Olympians series, Percy Jackson and the Battle of the Labyrinth. I’m loving this series and this book is maybe my favourite so far… despite it giving me a new found fear of cheerleaders. Seriously, I’ll never look at a cheerleader again after reading this.
About the book:
Percy Jackson isn’t expecting freshman orientation to be any fun. But when a mysterious mortal acquaintance appears on campus, followed by demon cheerleaders, things quickly move from bad to diabolical.
In this latest installment of the blockbuster series, time is running out as war between the Olympians and the evil Titan lord Kronos draws near. Even the safe haven of Camp Half-Blood grows more vulnerable by the minute as Kronos’s army prepares to invade its once impenetrable borders. To stop them, Percy and his demigod friends must set out on a quest through the Labyrinth-a sprawling underground world with stunning surprises at every turn. Full of humor and heart-pounding action, this fourth book promises to be their most thrilling adventure yet.

I just finished Planet Song by TK Boomer. He has created an underwater world where the greatest drug is animal songs. And they’ve just discovered whales … It was an interesting story and it was weird, always having to remind myself that they were floating, that the inside of their spaceships would be filled with water.

The last physical book I read was Death Masks, the fifth book in the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. I love that series for the recurring characters you get to know really well as they keep popping up, and the twistiness of the mystery, the unique conflicts they bring up–it’s all fantastic. The last ebook I read was Chasing Rabbits by Erin Bedford. It’s the first in a series that is a dark twist on Lewis Carroll’s classic, and it was very well done!

.I just finished The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman. I can’t quite decide how I feel about it as I did not expect it to be as dark as it was. It is fantasy and there is a lot of earthy magic and herbal charms. However, it is firmly set in urban life in 1960’s New York. It is also a very heartfelt coming-of-age story about three siblings dealing with depression, loss and identity.
